FAQ's about DofE residential trips with Edukid
The Gold Residential is a 5-day, 4-night experience where you join a group of people you don’t know in a shared activity or course. Our overseas trips fully meet these requirements and we have been acknowledged by the DofE awards as an Approved Activity Provider. Our trips typically last around 7-10 days, including travel time.
Yes, you can. The DofE Residential section encourages participants to meet new people, but it’s perfectly fine to know one or two others, as long as you’re not spending the entire trip only with them. You’ll be grouped with people you don’t know for most activities. As long as you spend the majority of the experience working and socialising with people you didn’t previously know, the trip can still be counted for your residential. The residential is a great opportunity to meet new people and to build new connections.
You’ll be part of a group of students from across the UK that will be joining us for their DofE awards or as part of our Global Citizenship Programme as advertised in their school. You won’t know them beforehand, which meets the DofE requirement and encourages independence and teamwork.
The leaders on the trip will be able to complete your assessor’s report once you return home.
