Edukids ‘Inclusive Education Programme’ focuses on enabling children with Special Educational Needs and Diverse abilities (SEND) to go to school and access education.
Inclusive education is a fundamental pillar for building a just and equitable society. It ensures that every child, regardless of their abilities or background, has access to quality education in an environment that respects and values diversity. By embracing inclusive education, we not only uphold the rights of all learners but also enrich the learning experience for everyone involved.
We are committed to breaking down the barriers that prevent students from accessing education. We provide essential assistive devices that empower students with disabilities to engage fully in the classroom. We equip teachers with the skills and knowledge to support diverse learning needs effectively. Additionally, we advocate for and facilitate infrastructure changes, such as installing ramps and widening doors, to create accessible learning environments.
Through these initiatives, we strive to cultivate inclusive spaces where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.

In Uganda there are many misconceptions surrounding those with SEND, and so for a long time there has been a social barrier that the children have faced in accessing education. Not only this, but schools simply don’t have the facilities to aid the children in their learning.
We are changing this by providing specialised equipment, disabled ramps, barriers and toilets, and also training teachers so that they are able to teach appropriately and attentively to meet the needs of our children. Edukid are coming alongside the most marginalised people in rural Ugandan society, running workshops that educate the community about the rights of people with SEND.
