Edukid's Global Citizenship Programme

Edukid works with children who live in extreme poverty in various areas of the world. By linking the children and staff in our oversees projects with your school, you are able to learn about the issues as they see them and explore ways to help.

What is the Global Citizenship Programme?

The Edukid Global Citizenship Programme is designed to educate students about critical global issues such as poverty while fostering an understanding of diverse cultures and beliefs. More importantly, it equips students with the tools and opportunities to become active participants in overcoming poverty.

By connecting UK schools with our overseas programmes in Asia, Africa, and South America, we give communities a platform to share their perspectives on poverty and create meaningful learning experiences for students. These stories are directly linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are supported by a wealth of resources, including films, lesson plans, and an extensive resource library. Our two-way learning platform offers students the opportunity to visit Edukid’s international projects.

The programme also features a Character Development Pathway, guiding students from primary school through to university and aligning with SIAMS, Ofsted, UN SDGs, and initiatives like The Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Awards. This streamlined approach provides an easy-to-use, impactful resource for educators.

Our vision extends beyond addressing poverty. We aim to inspire a new generation to explore their identity, understand their role in the world, and unlock their potential. By sharing stories, cultures, and beliefs, students and communities can work together to create a brighter future for everyone.
